Meccano was my childhood love. Mere seeing the word or hearing it makes me feel nostalgic. Originally manufactured by a UK firm, they used to advertise it as a toy that grows with the boy. Gender bias, as i would like to feel, should be ignored as the toy is good for boys and girls alike. The company also used to publish a magazine of their own, titled Meccano Magazine which contained wonderful articles and newsletters from all over the world. They also promoted formation of Meccano Clubs in many countries including India.
