Like Techmine brought up - you can use Diigo as your primary bookmarking tool and then have it pass the details to bookmark in Del.icio.us as well. I'd prefer to use Diigo only but use this approach for a couple of reasons:

1) Sites (i.e. Facebook and Plaxo) have widgets for Del.icio.us but not Diigo.
2) It's a backup for the bookmarks in the event Diigo does not catch on.

On the second note, I'm really shocked that Diigo is not more popular. It does not get the love in the social bookmarklets integrated into a good deal of blogs now...

@techmine I agree that diigo & delicious have there differences, with diigo being more of delicious++. I would definitely turn to diigo when collecting data from different sites, while for general bookmarking delicious is quite adequate.

I think Diigo and delicious are 2 distinct products with bookmarking in common. Diigo is essentially a research tool that lets you do lots of great stuff like annotating and keeping notes where asDelicious is plain bookmarking and discovery website (with lots of fan following). Diigo has a great toolbar that can integrate your diigo account with lots of other players including delicious. I am surprised that delicious never introduced a toolbar (just a sidebar) or provided any way to take notes (there is a feature of comments though). I like Diigo and i am very happy with the collection type service. Sharing is easy by forwarding a particular page with your notes.
